Both. It wouldn’t wipe off with a wet wash rag but it mostly came off with the bath. It just scared me because her whole bottom was wet and vent was swollen.Definitely have plain water available too.
And only give the EL for one day...you can over do them.
Good chick starter and plain water is all they should need.
It can take a couple days for their digestive systems to get working smoothly.
Was the wetness on the butt pics from the poop or washing it off?

Glad they are better!The brooder smells and looks like they all pooped all night long. The bath, food change, electrolytes, and temp increase has made a world of difference. Thank you so much. I wasn’t ready to lose another chick.

I had it down to 88 but took it back up to 90. Everyone seems happy.
