Definitely have plain water available too.
And only give the EL for one day...you can over do them.

Good chick starter and plain water is all they should need.
It can take a couple days for their digestive systems to get working smoothly.

Was the wetness on the butt pics from the poop or washing it off?

Both. It wouldn’t wipe off with a wet wash rag but it mostly came off with the bath. It just scared me because her whole bottom was wet and vent was swollen.

She has bounced back! I switch the water back to plan. Still just regular chick feed. She was running around for the first time in her 7 days on earth. The brooder smells and looks like they all pooped all night long. The bath, food change, electrolytes, and temp increase has made a world of difference. Thank you so much. I wasn’t ready to lose another chick.

PS can you tell what kind of chick she is? I know it’s not an EE but I forgot what the hatchery guy said she was. My daughter wanted a leghorn because it was big and fluffy. This was his alternative

I’ll get you some pictures. It’s just a water trough. It’s getting tight but I take them into the run for 1-2 hours a day depending on the heat. I sit in a playpen with them. I can only handle so much. Haha

I had it down to 88 but took it back up to 90. Everyone seems happy.

This is my old brooder that fell apart. It was big but terrible to clean.
