2 of our chicks have nasty looking vents. The golden comet is still running around normal but stands funny. Hard to explain. The speckled black and white chick has good fight but is dazed and confused most of the time. She seems to eat and drink. Poops are running but not too abnormal. They are on medicated feed. They are with 7 other chicks. Help!

Electrolytes
Definitely have plain water available too.
And only give the EL for one day...you can over do them.

Good chick starter and plain water is all they should need.
It can take a couple days for their digestive systems to get working smoothly.

Was the wetness on the butt pics from the poop or washing it off?

I agree, with a brooder plate, they likely don't need the heat lamp too unless it's very cold - what's your outdoor temps?

You had mentioned that they were doing better once you adjusted the heat - did you make it warmer or cooler.

Chicks only need 1 warm spot, let the rest be cool. Think about chicks with a Mama hen, she doesn't heat up the whole place, she just provides a warm spot for the chicks to snuggle under.

Try switching to a high protein game bird starter. I don’t use medicated since I started keeping Guinea Fowl in with my chickens and I have the healthiest group of chicks yet. Not only are they plump and feathering early but none of them had pasty butt this time...just a suggestion.

The brooder smells and looks like they all pooped all night long. The bath, food change, electrolytes, and temp increase has made a world of difference. Thank you so much. I wasn’t ready to lose another chick.
Glad they are better!
Yes, photos of the brooder too please :)
