HELP....bad Chicken...bad bad chicken!!!!

I have 4 red stars and have been dealing with them eating their eggs the last couple months. I thought I had it under control BUT nope. I caught who I think it might be the head lady eating a egg inside the coop by herself this late am. SO I grabbed her and QUARANTINED her! They egg laying had been wacky the last month, laying outside occ in random spots in there large pen, and inside coop switching nest often. Soem days there is 3 eggs other days only 1. SO the other 3 dont seem effected I took their buddy out but now what to do with her.....you can't retrain them to stop eating??????

i think this will always be an issue. you could always try the fake egg in the nest. it sometimes helps to teach them not to try and crack eggs.

I need to get some some heavy duty ones. I have used these 2 cheapo light weight wooden eggs that have had it. I was thinking I need to get my hands on some golf balls! I guess I'm gonna have to keep this lady seperated for a while! I Hope I get 3 eggs in the am.......and not another pecker in the bunch!! THANKS for your post!

Are you giving them calcium? Mine did that until I got some calcium and added it to their feed.
