I hate to revive an old thread but thought I would update and ask a question at the same time.
Squeaker is doing fantastic.
She still lives in the house and is giving me 3-4 eggs a week even though she's hardly ever outside. Her skin did fully heal over her skull and some of the smaller feathers around her eyes and a few at the base of her head have also grown back. I let her out with a couple of young ones the other day and I think she was super happy to finally be around her own kind again. The only prob was in the brief battle for pecking order she got pecked on the head a couple of times and because there's no feathers they tore the skin a little. Nothing major and she didn't even notice. I put a little nepsporin on it just in case but they've already almost healed since I brought her back inside. So my question is, is there anything that might help her grow feathers back in? I'm thinking since it's entirely new skin no feathers will ever develop but I'm hoping there's a chance. I'd hate to have her be lonely all her life because I'm worried she might get injured again easily. I've grown quite attached to her and while she always seems happy to see me I also hear her making sad little sounds every time she see's or hears another chicken. Thoughts anyone?
Here's a pic of her from the other day.

Oh and she can indeed hear. The vet confirmed that the damage to her ears was only on the outside.
