I know what I'm about to say is going to sound insensitive, but this is something you're going to have to come to terms with. I think that by not culling the chick, you put her through five days of suffering that could have been spared. A prolapsed rectum is something that is serious, and it was repeating. That's not a trait that ought to be in any flock, it puts the birds through too much pain. Culling is sometimes necessary.

But that doesn't mean you can't give her a nice grave and put flowers on it in her memory.
