I did have to end his suffering though. It seemed the extrusion was getting larger every few minutes, he had lost all energy and seemed to be suffering very much.
I hope I never have to do that again, although it was very quick and over in seconds.

The most important thing is to not let the chick suffer. If he/she does not improve or suffering seems great...
