help! Bloody crack on fertile egg

I have a banty hen that had 2 banty eggs and 3 standard eggs ( and a few extra not fertile ) eggs. One of the banty eggs had a dime size piece of shell that went missing sometime in week 2. We left it-basicly I did not want to deal with it. It hatched out just fine and is no worse for the experience. I was very surprised . Here is the little fluffball in front.
