WARNING GRAPHIC PIX! I woke up this am to a puddle of blood in The coop. my one-year-old hen has blood coming from her vent. I bathed her and found this bloody tissue in the water, it is long and fibrous, and looks like there is a large clot at one end. There was also maggots on her vent. She seems happy and eating and taking dust baths. 5 days ago she laid the first egg in 2 months, it was shell-less and had blood on it.
Since she is new to me I dewormed her with wazine 1 week ago, she had never been wormed prior. My plan was to follow up with a zirmectrin. She get ACV in her water daily. I bought her 2 months ago, and had to treat her for vent gleet. All of the rest of my chickens are healthy. She is a Buckeye. Not sure if this is a prolapse or not.
