Help! Bloody poop...not sure which chicken

Can you get some more Corid water into her? I would still give her a direct dose of .10ml per pound undiluted of the Corid for 3 days, that's in addition to the Corid water.

Also, when did she last lay an egg? Coccidiosis overload can make them not feel well and possibly she may stop laying until she feels better, but it's a good idea to give her a checking over, feel her abdomen for any bloat or fluid, look at the vent-is it clear of poop and lastly monitor her crop to see that it is empty in the morning before she's had anything to eat/drink.

I'm sick of rain and I know you must be too. Looks like we have plenty more coming our way.

Okay, good to know. I didn't know I could give her the Corid directly along with the treated water. I will do that.

I have been checking her vent and crop daily, and her abdomen. Her vent is clean, and her crop has been empty in the morning so far. Yesterday, it was empty early evening, so I gave her more mash and she ate quite a bit.

Her abdomen feels normal so far as well. I don't think she has laid an egg since Sunday. That was the last day all 4 chickens laid. The two black sex links have very distinctive eggs, but I can't tell the difference between the two buff orps. However I have seen the other in the nesting box each day, but not the sick one, so I am guessing she hasn't laid.

I just let them out for a bit while the rain finally stopped. We had 2 inches of rain today. She is looking much more perky. She is the one behind the other buff orp.

I just gave her an oral dose.

Look at your sweet Orpies!
I'm hoping she will perk up more by morning.
It's very good that you have been checking all the things that you do (crop, vent, etc.).

I do feel badly for the NC and SC folks further East. In the mountains, we didn't get what they thought we would (thankfully), but I'm still tired of rain:)

She is much better today! Her tail is up and she is running around more. Thank you for all your help!

Yes, we didn't get near the rain we were supposed to, either. I am thankful for that. I can't imagine what it is like for those folks trying to recover from the hurricane and getting more rain.

We are supposed to have a full week of sunshine! I am hoping everything dries out.

Does Corid make them stop laying eggs? Since I started the treatment, the chickens all seem healthy now, but all four have stopped laying. I got one egg today, from one of the black sex links, but nothing yesterday or the day before. I usually get 3 to 4 eggs a day.

I am wondering if it is just coincidence, as it is starting to have less daylight hours as well.

It's most likely the stress from being ill with coccidiosis that stopped the laying. At 7 months my sexlinks laid all winter. I would just give them some time and they will likely start back up. The Orps may take a bit longer since they aren't quite as prolific layers as the sexlinks in general. The shortened days may be a contributor, but I suspect the illness is more of a cause.

Thanks. I am not too worried about the eggs; I just want them to be healthy! I think the three days of sunshine in a row helped a lot, since it dried things out.
