HELP! Bobwhite hatching problems

I run humidity 45% on Bobs and add wafers to my water tank at day 19 to boost it up to 65 or better.

I've only done Bobwhite... And it was a one time thing. Half of my eggs turned out infertile


But I did put most of it in a thread; I had to go back and reread and check what my temps and stuff were... If you want to sift through it, you can go along with my hatch and see if there are big differences. I noticed our humidity was different...I had 48% at set, and 78 at lockdown.

I got 3 out of 100 ... Next time im gonna try lower humidity

I hatched bobs. In january. Was running wood heat in the house. So probably 20 percent or less humidity in the house.

Tried dry incubation. Added water once at day 8. Then raised to 70 percent to hatch.

Had 100 shipped eggs hatched 68.

So sorry! Where are you getting your eggs? I got a 80% hatch from Wadley farms eggs. Those were my first bobwhites and I had a styrofoam incubator from TSC.

For shipped eggs and being about 5 degrees when they arrived. I thought that was a good rate.

Bought off ebay.

I'm from South Carolina. If it gets 5° I'm moving to Florida. But i guess you did well with frozen eggs.i just put 25 in my hatcher and already they look like popcorn.

I'm thinking bobs and bluescale or gamble would need lower humidity... Just thinking of their natural environment in the wild; dry grassy areas, probably mostly plains and southern states, dry dry areas.

Yeah, I'd lower the humidity next time @arielanna88 and see if it helps.
