Help breeding!?

My main question at this point is the whole body build thing of the Sussex versus the slw. I was wondering if I could end up possibly filling in my slw a bit more?

So abt 75% of them will end up rose combed eh?

If you have one Ayam Cemani parent with a single comb and one Wyandotte parent with a rose comb, you should get either 100% rose combs, or 50% rose combs. (Depends on the genetics of the Wyandotte parent.)

If the Wyandotte has two copies of the gene for rose comb, then each chick gets one copy, and all chicks have rose combs. (100% rose combs)

If the Wyandotte has one copy of the rose comb gene and one not, then it will pass the rose gene to half of its chicks, so 50% of chicks will have rose combs.

If you cross two birds that each have a rose comb, but who each have a single-comb parent, that's when you get 75% of the chicks with rose combs (what folks love to demonstrate with Punnett Squares.)

Ah okay. So let’s say I have a double fibro roo and a double gened rose comb Wyandotte?

Than that should more than likely give me the 100% of black rose combed chicks that I want if I’m correct?

Yes, I expect you will.

(If you then breed two of those chicks to each other for the next generation, you will get quite a variety of traits again, but you will have a possibility of picking out some that will then breed true.)

Sounds badass! Lol. Sounds like almost exactly what I wanted to do! Lol create a “baphomet” line of chickens lol

And right now I wanted to ask you how, if I could any way, Make it so the males have single combs and the hens end up with rose combs?
