My first broody hen (no roo) - I set Thelma on 11 fertilized eggs on Wednesday night 4/11. Yesterday I saw 2 eggs that were not under her, and when I touched them they were cold. This morning another egg was beside her cold

. I've read that if she's not sitting on them, she might sense that something is wrong with them and push them out - is this true? I've removed them from the nest - but don't know what to do with them.

If they aren't embryos after 3 days, could I scramble them to feed to the other girls? I think I should not candle the eggs at 7 or 8 days if there's a chance she would abandon them.

Any thoughts / advice?

If she is good and broody just take them out a few at a time and candle them and put them back asap, mark them with a big X so you know they are already candled....~Charm1704....P.S..you can put more hay or straw in the nest box to help keep the eggs under her.
