No, I would just come in at night when I fed them and take their eggs and pretty soon they had it all figured out that they couldn't sit the, and gave up.Like.... pull them off the nest, multiple times a day, for 3 weeks?

This technique sounds good but once we move to our new house I want her to be able to go broody there. Will she want to sit after this experience?I have always just pulled my girls off and taken the eggs. It sounds kind of harsh, but after 3 weeks or so, they are done with this fad and never sit diligently again.
Have had several birds go broody again after breaking them in a crate. Thanks for all the replies.
