I had a similar situation today. I had fence separating my 5 or 6 week old pullets from my broody hens with 2 week old chicks.
The one broody hen would charge the fence once in a while. She could not stand the sight of those other chicks.
I have had this set up since I brought those chicks home 3 weeks ago. Today the 5 or 6 week olds, got out of their fence while I was at work. One of them was hurt quite badly, I'm assuming it was the broody hen, but can't be sure, we have hawks and lots of other preditors around.
FYI: I once (maybe 8 years ago) had a hen who received an even worse injury from a roo that played a little rough. The back of her head was torn open. She then was pecked to the point I couldn't even tell if she had eyes. Her comb turned black and fell off. She would have never won a beauty pagent, but she survived just fine and went on to become one of my best layers ever. (Yes roo went into a stew pot.)
Wash out the wounds, I just use water, but some will say you should use saline.
I put spread antibiotic ointment all over the wounds. That last hen survived just fine, so I'm wishing for the best for these little ones.
I have never used Blue-Kote, but may go out and buy some tomorrow.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery for all your injured birds.
