One of my favorite hens April Opal has been a bit loggie for the past couple of days and this morning she was laying on her side in the chicken house but got up when I went in but her face looks to be puffed up under her eye and it is obvious that she is sick. Didnt want to come out of the house with the rest of the hens when I opened the door and now is sitting in the nest box just looking miserable. Eye is not closed up just face is puffed up right by her beak. No evidence of breathing funny at least not yet and no evidence of her being pecked. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have 7 other hens who share her space at night and dont want them to get sick too if its something catching. It has been raining here for last 4 days straight and all chickens are not very happy about that but no one else seems sick or off.

Why is my post the only one without response did I ask the question wrong or what? Others who posted after me have gotten response. I really would like to give this hen something to make her feel better she has NOT come out to eat this morning. I am really worried about her. I checked the diseases listed and noine of them seem to fit as she has no nasal discharge or runny eyes just the swollen face and listless behavior. I also am worried about the other hens in the flock can someone tell me what I might do for her. She is not showing breathing problems but is obviously sick with something.
