HELP! Can a hen be broody for more than a month?

A 19-month old hen had been laying (sparsely), and started to go broody for a month now. We didn't manage strictly to break her broodiness (e.g. caging etc). She is growing weak and started to walk backwards during the short time she is away from the box. Anyone has similar experience (of both or either observation)? Appreciated any tips and suggestions.

Some hens will continue setting until they are so depleted that they die. Check her for mites, and lock her away from the nest site to break her broodiness before that happens.
