Help! Can hens crow?

The really red pronounced comb and wattles told me.

Not sure how well that will show up but that is Sycamore, my nearly 17 week old Leghorn hen.

My egg laying Americuna used to crow better than my rooster. She would hop on the back of a lawn chair and crow her fool head off for an hour or so every morning. Was really annoying. But she started this when she was about 2 years old. And then just as suddenly as she started the stopped and went back to being a normal hen. Go figure.

Thank you all for your help, we went yesterday and picked up 2 more chicks. Barred Rock and Golden Orp. We found our guy a great 150 acre home with a friend who actually misses having a rooster. So it's perfect!

If I were close and didn't have a rooster I'd take him I love the sound of a rooster crowing. Glad you found him a home!
