Cockerel 3 months old. He is trying to bite me. The first time he bit my hand and held on, I grabbed him and tucked him backwards under my arm and continued to do my chores. He was loving every minute of it. I feel like he got rewarded for bad behavior. Would a light slap be more effective. I don't feel he is trying to be mean and he gets plenty of attentionm suggestions?

You are training him to be a man-fighter.

The video linked is very nicely done, but dead wrong. He showing just one rooster. Just about everything he did makes for an aggressive rooster down the road. His approach must be practiced by everyone and rooster will periodically challenge the "established" order.

To provide positive, do create a video showing what is going on. Wear protective clothing if it gives you confidence. Move slowly not reacting to him. Do not chase or displace him. Do not engage him physically. Owing to age, most of what is going on likely feed related and complicated by the male maturation process.

Thanks I am not sure I will be able to make a video.

The video posted is an ok way to do it but you have to combine that with daily handling to tame them. If you only have one rooster this will work, with more than that it kinda pisses them off. It will also depend on the breed, some times it works, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes it works too well (esp. with timid breeds) and they will be outright scared of you, others like my white rock will just hate you. Feel it out, if you only have 1 roo give it a try, if you have 2 or more don't do it.

@Matejka you grabbed and tucked him. I advise strongly against that approach, as well as against slapping him.

Many of mine briefly engage in such behavior when really excited over prospect of food. Even my broody hens can do it at times. When he does it, do nothing that appears to respond to it. Do not present him immediately with food either. Do not do something he might consider aggression. Do no recoil from his attacks. Make him think your actions are not influenced by his.
