HELP can quail chicks have regular chick crumb

hey basicaly I set some button quail eggs a few weeks ago and I had a busy week and completely forgot to order some quail chick crumb this is my first time with quail I just got home and relised it’s day 16 I looked in the incubator and 2 have started to hatch and I only have chick crumb for chickens will they be ok eating this for a few days is there anything I can do to make it higher in protine I do have chick vitamins that I can add to the water if this will help

Try posting in the quail thread. More people might know stuff there. If quail are like chickens they don't eat for 24-48 hours after hatch as they are still on their yolk. I would get quail feed ASAP but anything you can feed them is obviously better than starving them.

Is your feed medicated? That is the main concern I can think of for the very short term, that they could overdose if feed is medicated and dosed for chickens.
