He's 2 days old and he can't stand or walk. He's already all fluffed but he just waddles around the brooder on the back the joint that connects his leg to his thigh. Does't have splay leg but I put a hobble around his feet anyways. He is also the only chick that hatched. I don't know what else to do.. i could just wait it out. You think if he had another chick in there to show him how to stand and walk it would help?

so sorry about your chick. this does not sound good. I would try to get it do drink some sugar water by dipping its beak in the water. You can try syringe feeding the sugar water but there is always the danger of them aspirating some which could kill them. the best thing would be to tube feed some baby bird formula, but you have to know how to do this and have the materials - maybe someone near you could help.

any other symptoms? has baby found the food and water and eaten/drank? is baby warm enough? is the crop empty?

otherwise try to keep baby warm and comfortable; when they get to this point the prognosis is probably not good.

I had a quail like that. He never got better. He shuffled around on the joints until they got swollen and then died one night. No idea what caused it. I thought maybe he broke a leg at first but after a week of him walking like that I'm not so sure. He may actually have hatched that way and I didn't notice for a week because I had over 100 of them and he was managing to get around and eat and drink. As they got bigger though he was getting run over and picked on. I did seperate him out but it didn't help him recover.

darn, i think i'll have to cull him. it's the only one that hathed out of 15 that was fertile or not scrambled during the shipping process. well, i guess i'll hand feed for a week and if he doesnt get better i'll just cull. he's not eating or drinking either.

thanks for the advice though.
