Omg the same thing just happened to me today... However I'm incubating eggs all eggs hatched but one that did not even pip... I know it was moving two days prior and I hadn't seen it move in a while so. I had a gut feeling something was wrong... I assisted the hatch which I knew was risky but I kida felt the baby was probably already dead. When I carefully cracked the shell a lot of blood came out which was odd but the baby was alive so now I was really feeling guilty since I maybe just killed the baby if. So much blood meant he needed more incubation time.., however when I uncurled him his brain was out of his head or the was a tumor or something... his beak also looked malformed - here are pics sorry it's pretty gory but I know when I saw this the first thing I did was to look up and see if this was a common problem I also did not see any eyes.. He didnt suffer I never saw him take a breath just a little moment as I removed his shell. So it's not all sad an fire here are his siblings
