HELP!!! Chick Immobiel after 24 hours!

So half the egg is off and it's fine but should it be trying to hatch out? Because it's peeping but it's just laying in the egg shape even though it can hatch out right now. Is it soaking up the yoke?

yes, it is not ready yet. Don't let that membrane dry out! This is important. The shell can be halfway off and the membrane can still shrink and squeeze the chick so it can't breathe. Wrap a damp warm paper towel around it and leave it alone. They don't come out of the shell until they are ready. sounds like he is not ready yet. The longer he stays in there without drying up the membrane and getting squeezed to death, the better for him.

sorry for a late response but unfortunately it died last night. It looked like the heart beat was getting really weird. So hopefully in a week or two our third times the charm! Thanks for all of the help.
