HELP!!! Chick Rolling around and scratching in bedding.

One of my RIR chicks(4weeks old) is rolling around and scratching on her side. Is this normal?

Relax! It sounds like your chick is enjoying a dustbath. It's how they clean their feathers.

My baby chicks roll around and scratch all the time. I thinks its normal chicky behavior. Some even pass out on their sides sleeping. What kind of chickies are they?

Thanks I thought I was doing something wrong. The two oldest (Molly and Myrtle) are Rhode Island Reds. I have 8 BOs that arent even a week old yet.

How cute!! I got a baby Rhode Island Red today for my birthday!! The are sooo cute when they are little!!

I know this is an older post, but my 2 week old chicks just started this and it freaked me out!! I thought it was having a stroke or a seizure!! Normal chicky behaviour...ugh I swear I am more sensitive to things than when I had my own kids!

Thank you for clearing this up, I just glanced over at the girls and they are happy as can be. Whew!
