My cousin has a blind chicken and it gets along just fine. Smartest bird I ever did see!! She lays and sets her own eggs, and takes care of her peeps just like any other chicken would. I'd keep it for sure!

ETA: BTW, That hen is 8 years old now

i am going to watch this thread also! I had a one eyed chic but mine also had a cross beak and it didn't make it. It's kinda interested to see if this blind chic will thrive with the rest of them!

I had a blind 120lb dog and he found food and water just fine! If your chick is doing that then wait and see how it goes! Good luck!

Not to pour cold water on you, but it is going to be fine for up to a week while it absorbs the yolk in its tummy. So it's not certain for several days if it is really getting enough food and water. Best of luck
