Hi everyone, I have a flock of 4 hens. I got them when they were chicks end of June and everything has been fine with them until recently. My BCM has been attacking my buff Orpington they were raised together and had always lived happily with each other. The attacking got so bad that she was drawing blood from her crest, and pulling out feathers. I separated the attacker my BCM from the rest of the flock and have been keeping her inside my home. After about a week of this I tried integrating my BCM but as soon as she saw my buff Orpington she ran to attack.
I again have them separated but it’s a little frustrating to see. They are both around the same size, although my buff weighs less, the BCM doesn’t let her eat or drink. My BCM also pecks at my other hens but nothing compared to how she attacks my Orpington.
It hurts my heart because my Orpington is the sweetest girl and she’s just getting relentlessly picked on. When I feed them she steps back and watches the rest eat ( I bought 2 feeders to help her). This didn’t help she still waits behind and watches the other girls eat.
