HELP....CHICKEN HAS HAD WATERY POO FOR A LONG TIME AND NO IMPROVEMENT

Okay, the feed store is open for another hour and a half - they have Valbazen and they said they have SafeGuard for cattle/sheep/stock.
Which one is better? I will go get it and give you the mg or whatever for the proper dosage.THANK YOU KATHY!!!
I can keep giving them probiotics and vitamins to boost their immune systems, right?

Why doesn't the diatamaceous earth and cayenne pepper work - they say it should?

You'll find Sageguard (liquid or paste) in the cattle, goat and horse sections of most feed stores. Get the 125ml bottle labeled for goats.

www.jefferslivestock.com has amprolium you can put in the water for coccidiosis which is caused by a protozoa. They also have poultry wormer made for chickens one type is organic and the other Wazine 17 liquid is piperazine. It is much cheaper than what you got and 8 oz is $5. in the catalog I have. They also sell antibiotics and vaccines for poultry. Jeffers is owned by a vet and they may know what is wrong with your bird.. They take paypal and ship very fast.

Some of the younger new birds have white dots in their healthy poop. They do all free range and we have lots of earthworms!

You do know that the kind of worms that get in you internally are not anything to do with earthworms right??

How long have you had the new birds you mentioned with the white spots in their poop. If they arrived after you treated previously they may have reintroduced the worms back to the flock again.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

RareDuck - you don't think this valbazen will do the trick with all worms? You think I should get that amprolium?
I love Jeffers - I just discovered them and got a lot from them. Twin City Poultry had even more and with directions - that's where I got the crop bound pills, and baytril and amoxicillian so I have it on-hand if needed.

Chicken Obsessed - Yes, I do know earthworms are not the worms that cause the problem, but they said they are the carriers of the gapeworm????
Yes, the newer ones I got as chicks were raised inside and then outside separately and they were just introduced to the big pen a few weeks ago.
They are the only ones who have the dots in their poo and they were just started on the diatamaceous earth and cayenne pepper, but three weeks should have done it. The white dots are not moving or alive or anything?? Does that make a difference?

It's the weird undigested poop that's so strange. It is actually smelling this evening and brown instead of so green, so it looks like improvement?
She also doesn't seem to be spewing every 10 minutes. It was only two times in the last hour!!!

I can't imagine that she has a worm and none of the others do??? But, if she did have an impacted crop, would that make her vulnerable to worms and not the other ones? I still think doing the wormer is a good thing so long as it doesn't do damage.

Kathy - As far as poultry dust - they free range, should I keep them in their pen for a long time and let a few cool evenings kill the worms outside that treated environment before I let them out again?

When you say .2 ml per 2.2 lbs. for the Valbazen - where is that on this injector that I have - it's for oral dosage...THANK YOU! The Valbazen says Active Ingredient Albendazole 11.36% 500 mL/16.9 fl oz (1pt 1 fl oz) THANKS AGAIN!
