Somehow our chickens ended up with lice... we have never had lice in our flocks, only mites. Are chicken lice the same lice that get on people??? I just had some crawling me and I squished them, but we dont have time for a people lice problem. Only our 4 adult polish were affected and we made sure to clean their two pens and put fresh bedding. We also bathed each bird and put sevin dust all over them, being careful of their preen area and vent. Along with that, we also put frontline sprqy on them that we do for mites, in the hopes it helped for both.
Are they people lice as well as feather lice? They are really tiny and orange and the same size as a mite.
