Ok so I am a sucker for sick animals and I bought the chickens cuz you could see they was
Very unheathy well one I no has broken leg other I think had a busted leg but it has healed some so she just walk very funny now my question is I'm not rich I can't take to a vet and have them reset or anything can they have a nice life and just need a little help getting around o
Will they always be in pain and I should just put them down thx for your help

Chickens are quite resilient. If it's in pain now, search here for aspirin dosage- you can mix a tiny amount in water, but you need the right dosage. You can splint with vet wrap (that's a non-stick adhesive wrap, any feed store or good pet shop should have it).

You'll want either a low perch or a perch with lots of soft bedding underneath, so it doesn't get hurt jumping down in the morning. Make the coop and run "accessible", easy traction ramps, no major tripping hazards...

Ty yes my husband made them a nice chicken tractor with a lower nest box for them and no perch right now I will try the asprin and splint we . Ther nest box only a ft off ground with nice ramp with wood on it to help them get up I put fine pine shavings in nest box

When our rooster busted his leg we used flex tape, available at almost any store or in my case with many kids right in the medicine cabinet. If these breaks are new then try to set them or position leg best you can as someone pads it wrapping gauze then use popsicle sticks with flex tape to hold in place.

He did end up with a limp but after 6 weeks, went to only flex tape after 4 weeks, he got around just fine and took control of his harem again. I don't believe it ever bothered him once healed. His took longer to heal, we made sure it was, due to being a full separation at the hock.

You can splint it but do not attempt to set it. If the vetrap alone doesn't work, you can add onto the outside of the bandage a popsicle stick and then bandage over that.
