Help - chickens dropping dead!!!

Eprinex does not kill most types of worms and not all lice/mites. Same with ivermectin pour on. Both eprinex and ivermectin pour on kill external bloodsuckers... mites. I always recommend sevin dust to kill lice/mites. Besides, you'll need to dust the coop, roosts and nests anyway to kill them there. Then repeat everything in 10 days. The best wormer that kills all known worms that chickens can get is Valbazen. Eprinex has no egg withdrawal time. Eprinex is a clear liquid whereas ivermectin pour on is blue in color. Ivermectin pour on has a 14 day withdawal period as does valbazen. Dosage for eprinex, ivermectin pour on and valbazen are all the same....1/2cc for large chickens, 1/4cc for smaller chickens. Valbazen is the only one that is given orally. The eprinex and ivermectin pour on are placed on bare skin on the back of the neck.

so, the ivermectin and eprinex are 2 different wormers? I read so much on here I probably got the 2 mixed up. I was under the impression that eprinex would kill most all parasites. That's a little bit of a let down. I know we were still going to dust the birds at some point too. I also sprinkle the poultry dust on the roosts to kill some off. Do you prefer to alternate wormers to help you get most, or just go with the valbazen? Is valbazen available in most farm supply stores?

Have you checked for mites at all? We just had a problem over the past few months, chickens were dying. We did find mites on one, but many were sneezing/coughing we thought it was respitory..it wasn't. We lost about 5 or more birds from mites.

Thank you for posting that link Miss Lydia.
Please note on that chart that "albendazole"= valbazen... kills all types of worms listed; there are other types of worms that valbazen(albendazole) kills, but are not listed on the chart.
