Help chicken's insides coming out (photo)

'Let her sit in some warm water to help the area relax. Keep her in a small cage indoors if you can. I have given mine Tums for the calcium. Lubricate her vent with vaseline. If she is eating and drinking that's a great sign. Good Luck!!''

this is what I found on it from this site-I dont know how to send a thread so I cut cope and pasted! The same situation was asked last week and no one asnwered from what I saw--I wish you good luck--

That's about all you can do.

As for keeping her eggs out from hatching, you would need to separate her when you are collecting eggs to hatch.

Epsom salt soak that area, nice warm water. This will help clean the area and also help reduce the edema. I would repeat the epsom salt soak each day.....and follow the rest of the advice already given.

Epsom salts are wonderful for inflammation of any kind and especially on hemorrhoids or prolapsed rectums.

Thank you everyone, especially sonew123, you were a great help to me today.
She passed the egg, thank goodness. It had a partially broken and poorly formed shell, but was still basically intact. whew.
She still has a prolapsed vent but it is not as extreme. I've got her in a separate cage for monitoring/ observation. She isn't too impressed with me, didn't like the attention, warm water rinsing etc, but I definitely think it has helped.

you are very welcome-glad it all worked out-hopefully by being segregated she'll heal alot faster--sending healing bum wishing your way!!

Update: After a couple of days she seemed all right, and I let her go back in with the others. She seems to be recovering quite well and I will keep an eye on her and see if this recurs.
So for anyone else in this situation, for what it is worth:
I rinsed the prolapsed area with warm water, and put honey on the area, several times, the next day washed her again and put a high quality naturopathic calendula cream on the area (gentle, for lubrication and healing), and kept her separated until she seemed better and well enough to go back in with the others. Oh and I put just a little apple cider vinegar in her drinking water. And gave her time.
Thanks for everyone's help!
