Help! Chickens + Rodents = Problems

Greetings chicken owners! I am a student at Cal Poly Pomona. I’m currently working on a design project to solve the dilemma of rodents getting into chicken feed. We are looking to design a device that will effectively keep the rodents out! Hi, I store my feed in the barn in plastic rubbish bins.....never had a mouse/rat get into one yet (except for the time I left the lid off accidentally!)

You're lucky! Rats chew through plastic in my barn like it's tissue paper. Rubbermaid totes, kitty litter containers, trash cans - all of it.

I store chicken feed in my house for that reason, but any garden stuff in the barn (like cottonseed meal) gets stored in small metal trash cans with the lids securely locked on.
