URGENT Swollen foot and eye swollen shut

I was bummed I couldn't get it out at once.
We did try the tweezers yesterday but it was too hard still and she seemed exhausted so we stopped to let her rest.
I think the eye is gone sadly it's still swollen and smells terrible.
She scratches at it too.
If it's gone I just have to get the puss out and keep it clean till it heals?
Thank you so much for the help, I'm sorry to bother with so many questions.

Okay WARNING because the pic is kinda gross.

I did it. For past two days I have been washing it out with warm saline and applying antibiotic drops. Swelling went down a lot and puss too, except it got crusty.
Today I went to wash it out with few syringes of warm saline and it came right out. I didn't even pull it just kind of fell out?
This is what it looks like now.She eats, drinks well, walks around, everything good. Does it look good to you? The eye is a black thing in all of the puss right? Can I just keep washing it with saline till it heals?

Nice job.

I don't know if that's her eye in the pus or not. When you open up her eye tomorrow, get a good look, take some photos if you can. What's in the pus may just be some blood and scab material, her eye still may be intact.

I would keep cleaning the eye with saline and apply an eye ointment until it heals.

Sorry that I am just seeing this latest post. I agree with Wyorp Rock to keep flushing the eye with saline, and apply the antibiotic ointment twice a day. Hopefully, with the pus out, and keeping it clean, you will see the eye intact. The longer infection is present the eye can sometimes be destroyed, but swelling makes it hard to tell for awhile.

No problem, thank you all for help! ❤️
This is the best picture I could get, she keeps it closed most of the time so I couldn't get a good look. Will keep treating it as you said and see what it looks like in a few days.

When the swelling has subsided, try to see if the eye is in there. If you can get some sulfa antibiotic or Tylosin, those might be helpful. Sulfa antibiotics are good for treating coryza, or for an eye infection due to pecking or a foreign body or seed getting into the eye. Let us know how she gets along.

Hi,sorry for the late reply.

She is up and doing well.Put on some weight and walks around well. I washed it out and put eye drops as you said, I'm still washing it out with saline but now I paused on the drops for a bit.
Still it seems unchanged, I know it's not the best picture but I don't think she has that eye anymore. Also, keeps it closed all day. The fowl pox marks seem to be gone. I still didn't join her with others because I'm scared they will pick on her.

Also did the bumblefoot surgery on the other chicken, managed to get out a whole kernel.(I put up a picture too) She's doing well, it is a huge relief. Her foot is still swollen on the other side, the one I didn't cut,the one that had no scabs or entry wounds on it. Will that go down on its own or?

Sadly, I lost one of the other newcomers to what I assume was wet fowl pox? She was acting, eating, breathing normally till that day.No fowl pox marks on her comb. We did have a heat wave but we also treat their living space against flies and mosquitos regularly.
One afternoon she started wheezing, breathing heavily, her comb was blackish and had some build up in her mouth. I cleaned it out, managed to get medicine at the vet. Morning she was fine, later sister calls me that she passed away. Sucks and I wish I done more or stayed at home that day. Also shocking how quickly it happened.

Anyways, sorry for the long post. Huge thanks to all of you for your help and time! I appreciate it a lot!

Well looking back in the earlier pictures, it looks as though the eye may have been punctured or gone then, but we usually recommend treating the eye just in case it is there and just swollen. Glad that she is doing well, and that you got the pus plug out of the one foot. Can you post a current picture of the swollen foot?

Sorry for your loss of the one that may well have had wet fowl pox.
