HELP!!! Chicks shaking head and then passing away!

Medicated my chicks yesterday evening and they seem to be more lively today. I forgot to mention in a previous post that some of them had runny and or bubbly/ foamy poop....even watery poop. I am finding less of that this morning, but some of them are still shaking their heads and scratching their ears, albeit not as much as they were yesterday.

I wonder what it is that they have/had? I may take a poop sample in to the vet and see if they can find anything......

On a totally separate note, I think my smallest black Silkie Bantam is a rooster for sure, it is already acting "cocky"; it ran, fluttered up and kicked a large Delaware chick with both feet and then strutted off. Is this possible at, what is it, NINE days of age? LOL!

Well, there poop could be like that because they might not have been eating. It is a good idea to get it checked anyway. I am glad they are making progress!

thanks for the tip on wood shavings. I have 2 silkies (paint hatching eggs i paid dearly for), i put them with other chicks of the same age on wood shavings, and the one little silkie started shaking his head. i showed him the water, and he was VERY thirsty. I knew something was wrong, so i took him back inside and put him on paper towels again. i thought maybe the bigger chicks (standard breed cochins) were bullying him because he was so small. but i think maybe he ate some wood chips. i massaged his crop about every 30 minutes for 4-5 hours, and noticed a difference after about an hour. i kept doing this until the head shaking stopped. he is still inside with his other paint buddy and doing fine. 3 days later he is doing great, so thanks for the wood shaving tip. i won't make that mistake again.
