Most of the hatcheries will send you sexed birds if you ask. Usually it is a slightly higher charge, and vent sexing isn't 100% accurate.

I have another cute one too...this one she is getting cochin kisses. I think most breeds will become friendly if you handle them often.

My friend had good luck with her birds from Ideal. I'm not as fond of McMurrays, but they are alright. If you want silkies though, I wouldn't get them from a hatchery. Hatchery silkies are...very different...to breeder silkies.
