Years ago, back in the dark ages when Dukakis ran against Daddy Bush our k-8 school held a mock election on election day. Bush won hands down. Conversations started about whether we really vote for someone who shares our beliefs or if other issues come to play, such as party affliations, family habits (aka brainwashing), looks or popularity. For fun, the middle school teachers devised a new election - this time the kids had to vote according to issues and platforms. Much to their surprise, Bush lost as badly as he had won the week before. The teachers taught a great lesson and a good time was had by all - even a little guy named David who sat there with his head on his desk lamenting "I don't understand it - I've always been a Republican. How can I have Democrat leanings?"

BTW. I scored a 15 tie with Kucinich and Clinton. Then came Edwards 13 and Obama 10. My Republican mother in law scored 15 Richardson and a 10 tie for Clinton/Obama.
