~~one of my chicks has a bulging butt under its poop shoot. I didn't notice it till I soaked it butt in warm water to clean the poop off of it and can see it now that it is wet. Looks like its backed up with poo, what do I do?

Has it pooped since you cleaned it? Was the vent open or still full of dried poo? All I can say is make sure it's clean and open by pulling up slightly on the tail. And don't let the baby get chilled while you are cleaning it. Make sure it's dry before putting it back under the heat lamp.

Its clean and have been cleaning it with a warm rag, but this last time I had to use some warm water to get it open. That's when I noticed it looked packed with poo. She has went poo some cause its already dirty again, lol. Thank you, gotta go clean my

Use a Q-Tip and put a dab of olive oil around the chicks vent. The oil will prevent stool for sticking to the chicks down.

Is it the umbilical area that is swollen? Sometimes the are for awhile and they can get infected.
