**HELP** Cockerels attacking her!

Does her crop feel squishy, like a water balloon? Was she vomiting a clearish/brown fluid? If so, it sounds like sour crop. I just dealt with this twice. One hen I lost and the second one I cured with monistat. Search the thread on monistat cured sour crop. I gave the 3 day suppositories cut up into 1/3rds. Give her 1/3rd in the morning and 1/3 in the evening for a total of 9 treatments. It saved mine.

Yes squishy like that- yesterday when I tipped her and she vomited all brownish liquid (the color of her feed) came out looked like a few small grass strands- but it didn't stink really.
I will give her some of that yeast infection stuff.

I don't want to lose my sweet girl.... :-(

I hadn't noticed because her feathers were so fluffed up- but she feels so boney and thin!
I think she's starving to death!
How long does it take for any sign of the yeast med working??

We have her 1/3 monistat on a Friday night and by Saturday morning it had already gone way down in size. She's back with her flock and happy again now. But I would hurry with the treatment. From my experience, when they get to the point that they are voluntarily vomiting the brown fluid, they are dying within a few hours. I lost such a sweet brahma hen, but my EE I saved.

Hi Summer98
I had a box of CanesOral a one dose yeast infection capsule which I opened and mixed into a bit of oil (I figured 2 birds one stone...) so anyway, I have been giving her just 2 ml doses in the morning and evening, since yesterday and I have given her about 4 doses so far- and have about 2 more left
She seems perkier now- more alert and is actually sitting in the shavings whereas the last 2 days she has been only standing, except when I hold her in my arms to cuddle her.
Which, when I was doing this morning, I noticed she has mites!! Aaaaauuuuggghhh!
I checked the 10 other babies and they too have them. My older hens, don't seem to (they have been kept separated by chicken wire for weeks now that they are in the coop- so I don't know why the babies have them and then hens don't? I dunno, I have always put DE in their bedding...
but back to my sick girl- her crop is still pretty large although not as much as it was, and she gobbled up her scrambled egg and yogurt today.
I am praying she will get through this... I have such a tender heart and it always breaks whenever an animal is in trouble.

Thank you so much for your advice

Robin
