I didn't read all these pages but if you look closely to the first post you can't even own a cat or dog. No cat or dog OVER the age of 10 weeks. Now, what is the point???? Your city does not allow ANY animals. So, anyone living in your city and has animals they are breaking the law. How strange is that???? Not a place I'd want to live. Wow. Must be a lot of unhappy people there.

HannaLee - I think I would just keep plugging along with trying to get that ordinance changed. Here is a blog post - specific to Ohio - about whether chickens are livestock or pets. It may give you a jumping off point to address that question in terms of your own state.

That is pretty odd and way out of whack with other municipalities and a lawyer should be able to show it is disproportionate to community standards around your area and totaly screw with the town. but it could be $$$. Ask 'em if an ant farm counts ??? is an nsect an animal??? I would then start raising bees and paint my house bright pink!

i would say anyone that let their cat or dog breed and sell their off spring would be classified has livestock too..anyways u used there manure has fertilizer for your garden.. i would keep fight for my chickens.

Code Enforcement came by today. The neighbors are fighting and they come down on my ladies ! I'm in concord NC. The code guy was almost crying when he seen how well my birds live. I've got 5 days and my wife is crying hysterically shes going to loose her babies. What do i do ? Thanks.
