Pics below of how we pack. Basically wrap each egg in small bubble wrap using magic tape to close (it comes off the bubble wrap easier

). We use a thick-walled styrofoam shipper that I am fortunate to get free at work. The walls are 2-3 inches thick and are made of highly compressed styrofoam for strength. Place a air pillow in the bottom, then line the entire shipper with large bubble wrap...use plenty. Carefully place all eggs in the shipper. We now make sure the fat side is up, even though that won't help if the PO turns it on it's side or upside down. We then make sure the top is packed with either a packing pillow or large bubble wrap so the eggs are snug inside. Tape up the box, put fragile stickers on it, put "UP" arrows around the bottom (don't know if that helps

)

i like to individualy wrap each egg and then put them in a carton so that they are pointing up and then I wrap the carton in bubble wrap as well . I usually save the packing peanuts that I get when I get eggs and the cartons. I then put a layer on the peanuts and then put the carton inside and put more bubble wrap around it. If I ship more than six eggs I use a large flate rate box. If just six then I cut the carton in half and use a small flat rate box.

Just to add my two cents in here. I shipped some eggs using the big air bubbles (3 x 4 inches) with newspaper, and had one break enroute. Won't do that again. I', thinking one of the bubbles must have gone flat.

I just received some special eggs from a wonderful lady willing to share. She does not normally ship eggs but did an incredible job of making sure they were safe. She used plastic - not foam egg cartons, put shavings in each one, then the eggs, then filled up with shavings and closed. She wrapped the cartons in several layers of small bubble wrap, taped, put in box with newspaper all around and shavings, then filled the entire box to capacity with shavings. There is no way those eggs moved within the box. Two dozen eggs made it just as snug as a bug. Yeah, it was messy and had to be opened outside, but I think I will start packing that way.

Has anyone tried the foam pads with egg cut outs? They look they would be the best to me.
