Help Curly Feet new hatched Chick!

If it doesn't have it's land legs on it yet, up walking around and stuff... I would give it time still. To me they all look curled at first.

Otherwise if it really is you can try to look up chick sandals, there are lot's of how to's for making them.

Hope it's just early still! :fl

Ok here is picture of my newest chick. Born this morning at approx 5 am

I used the Chicken chick's guide to get my chick's feet straightened out!
http://www.the-chicken-chick.com/2012/02/spraddle-leg-in-baby-chicks-what-is-it/
She is also less than 12 hours old! Her middle and inside toes were curled way in and the outside toe was fine. Is it good to cast this early? How quick do you pull them from the incubator? I cornered them off in the incubator as I read too much space can cause crooked toes! She is moving around with her casts on. 2 new sisters by her side! 2 more hatching. I am trying to read through forums but faster help is appreciated!! Thank you!!

Thank you so much. My little chick has furry feet since he is part Silkie. Would I do it the same way with furry feet?

Yes, you need to do it the same but try and get as little fluff as possible caught up in the tape in such a way that it would interfere with natural leg/foot movement. You might even need to give it a trim before you apply the tape.

It also looks like your chick is splay-legged.....it's legs are too far apart for it to walk normally. Splayed legs and curled toes often occur together. You will need to make a manacle so he looks like this....

You can create the same effect with tape secured from ankle to ankle if it is easier xxx

Also....silkies have extra toes....you need to make sure the tape puts the toes in the correct position (I've never owned silkies so I do not know how their extra toes are utilised when they walk)
