My first chick had the cord and egg goo stuck to his "belly button too". I was sure it was herniated. He's 6 months old now. Let it dry. You don't have any other chicks that hatched right? If any others have hatched or do hatch you may want to put him in his own little brooder or a little box in your brooder so the any others don't peck at it. Some put neosporin or an anti biotic on the "belly button" I didn't.It seems like everything that can go wrong has!!! My chick has hatched yet has a herniated yolksack or something. It looks like a pink tube hanging out the back. WHAT DO I DO!!! ive googled a lot and there are so many mixed reviews, does anyone have advice or know what its chances are??
