Help! day 23 and a chirping egg PICS ADDED!

I'm so sorry to hear that. I just sat down and read your entire thread hoping for good news at the end. I have come to learn after many hatches I don't help. If it's not strong enough to hatch on it's own, it's not strong enough to live. Every time I helped them they died. The last time I helped one it lived for a week and we don't know if there's something wrong inside them that makes them not eat. We want to do the best we can do and we get attached to them so fast. I think it's the mother thing in us. It tears your heart out when it happens. Again I'm so sorry for you.

Thank you. I agree that it is the mothering in us. I have three human babies and I wanted to offer this chick the same I would offer my kids. I hope your chick pulls through!

Likethedesert, you have my condolences. I was on the edge of my seat reading the whole thread and just got done a few minutes ago. I am waiting on eggs that will be mailed out tomorrow to start my first ever incubation. I hope I don't have to go through what you did. That was heartbreaking! But I started a new topic earlier asking some questions about still air incubation and already got several people helping me out, so I feel like I have a chance at having at least some chicks when it is over.

Well, I know this ordeal has had to have worn you plumb out. Get some rest. I hope you will feel able to give it a try again sometime. Since you had a worse case scenario hopefully the next time will be much better.

I am so sorry for your loss, I followed your procedure until you went offline, then checked in the last couple days. Thank you for caring so much for your little babies, you had a very unfortunate, unusual situation. Wishing you the best.
