Hello, my turkey seems to have fallen ill. I have done procedures of isolation from my flock. The turkey's symptoms are white puss at the eyes, discharge at nostrils, lethargic, and weak. If you have an idea what it could be, please tell me and give suggestions to help cure it.

Is your turkey coughing, gasping, or wheezing? It may be a respiratory disease, such as mycoplasma (MG.) Try to get the turkey to drink some water, and add some electrolytes if you have them. Have plain water available too, in case she doesn’t like the medicated. Keep her warm. I would visit your feed store to get some antibiotics called Tylan injectable from the cattle aisle. It comes in 50 or 200 depending on the weight. How big is she? Tylan 50 is more for chickens or a small turkey poult, while 200 is a higher dosage for a larger bird.

My turkey is not wheezing or coughing. She is on the smaller side for a turkey her age.

How much does she weigh? Tylan 50 dosage is 1 ml per every 5 pounds given orally, 2-3 times a day for 5 days. Tylan 200 dosage is 1/4 ml for every 5 pounds of weight. I would clean her eye out with saline or water, and apply some Terramycin eye ointment or plain neosporin ointment twice a day. Respiratory diseases can stunt weight. Offer her some wet mash of feed mixed with water, and just a tsp of plain yogurt daily.

She weighs about 8-10 pounds.
