Help, different egg embryo ages.

I have had broodies hatch one chick and be fine with that! (I actually did it on purpose a few times because I had soooo many babies running around with different broodies) But if you want more, then you can give it a try. Like aart said though, the risk is her not accepting them.
Did you have any trouble with once the mama weaned the single chick it had no 'tribe'.

My broodies raise them with the other adults, so they usually just blend right in.

One funny one was a bantam cochin raised by an OEGB hen. Turned out to be a little cockerel. He was so funny in that pen full of OEGBs. Then he started trying to mate the girls, so he had to be moved, which was a little harder. He still lingers around their pen when he's out and about, and is a bit of a loner. :D

That’s funnny. I’m worried about this baby being a loner too. The mama previously raised a single chick about 7 months ago, did amazing with it, but it had other chicks it’s age to mingle with. This chick is going to have no others it’s age. Does anyone know if this will be a problem? Is it worth the effort to try and introduce other chicks to the Mom?

The only way to know is to give it a try. I have never had a problem getting a broody to accept day old chicks, but it can happen. There is no way of knowing for sure what they're going to do. If it were me, I'd give it a try if I could get day old chicks.

Thanks. I think I will.
