I have this bantam egg approaching day 24 tomorrow morning. This egg was showing movement this morning, but has been moving less throughout the day and isn’t moving very much at all anymore. I have 5 other eggs in the incubator and from day 22 they’ve all moved then quit later on. I don’t hear peeping but I’m wondering if this looked internally pipped. I had another bantam egg last night that was internally pipped & trying to get out but it also died by the time I was willing to help ):
These were shipped eggs which is why the air cell is saddled and confusing
I circled where I’ve seen the movement
Thanks!

Personally I have to say no. When they int pip you can see the beak clearly, it’s a dark triangle. I’ve had this situation happen to me, it looks like they’ve int pipped but it’s just their body pressing against the air cell. If they’re all stopping then it’s probably time to make some emergency breathing holes, which will also help you assess what’s happening inside. Sounds like they could be shrink wrapped, imo.

You were right. I just went ahead and made a hole but discovered the chick was dead... the part I was seeing was it’s leg :/ I wish I could have done something sooner but I guess I couldn’t have really helped unless it had internally pipped. I also looked in the one that was alive earlier and it had also died.
the weird thing is that they looked perfectly good to hatch and they weren’t shrink wrapped at all, but I think they were really malpositioned. I don’t think I’ll be trying shipped eggs again.. such a bummer ):

Oh, I’m so sorry :hugs what a shame):

Shipped eggs definitely aren’t always great. I’ve had my experiences and can say I’ll never buy shipped eggs again.
