Help! Dog Attack.

Yes. If she is serious, I'll come over to the broody thread and put some pictures on.

She seems to have settled into her new nest. I am a little concerned about it, as it's not a very dark spot, but we shall see.

I have 6 mamas and chicks in the coop and tonight they have been so mean to each other, they all have there special box and still they were jumping on each other, good grief, these mamas are so tempermental. [kinda makes me think of PMS]

Bridget seems to be walking much better, so dmso really worked.

I'm in no hurry to move her. I want her to have no relapses this time. Since they are all getting along, I'll just leave them be.

thats a good idea, and also helps them see what they are getting into when they decide to go broody and bring a bunch of the chicks into this world.

you might not get either one of them to go broody after this. JK. I am glad to hear Briget ids walking better.

No go on the broody, and I am tired of her trying broodiness and then not, so I'm going to forget about it for this year.

The other girls are about the same. I wonder if Bridget will ever lose her limp? I'm not so sure she is ever going to be as strong as she was.

My chickens helped me mushroom hunt tonight.

I went out hunting behind the house, and wouldn't you know, they followed me!

Hey Indigo, well i know your relieved, My little hen that went missing out in the woods, returned yesterday she was out over night 3 in a row, so either something happened to the eggs or she just gave up too. What ever I am glad she is back. you know Briget might always limp but hopefully still lead a good life with you. But keep up the DMSO you never know. Thats cute about them going with you to pick mushrooms. Hope you found some good ones.!!

Goofball chickens. When will they learn we have only their best interest in mind?

I am much relieved to not deal with a broody now. Next year we should have a nice set up at our new house. Right now we barely have enough space for the chickens we have, and we rent the land, so it's not ours. At our new house I am planning an enormous coop with several sections so I can have more than one flock and do some breeding. We will have 3.5 acres....think of how many chickens I can have!

I am a little grossed out tonight, but I think it will be ok. I went out and looked at Pearl (not the limping one, but the other injured one). I was looking at the scab on her back and it was thick and black and yucky, so I pried it up a bit. It looked so nasty I ended up pulling it off. The hole underneath was HUGE!!!

OMW!! I had no idea! It didn't smell funny or look pussy but I took her in and rinsed it good with some special solution, then sprayed it with Blu-Kote. I'm a little worried because I was thinking they were about healed and now I see that gaping hole on her back.

I'm hoping that makes it heal better because I pulled off Bridget's scab awhile ago and her spot seems to be healing much better now. I need some hen saddles to protect their backs.
