HELP!! DOGS ATTACKED MY SILKIE ROO

Sine he can lift his neck he may not have a broken neck. I would suggest disinfecting the wounds, and make sure he is eating and drinking to heal. make sure not to disturb his wounds to much!

He will need some antibiotics...Anytime an animal gets dog bit they will get an infection. At least that is what the local farm vet has told us. Our dog attacked one of the neighbors goats and the vet said that anytime an animal gets bitten by a dog they will get an infection and need antibiotics...

what type of antibiotics is it something i can buy cheap online and give him myself? because i cant really afford to go to the vet right now.

Sometimes feed stores have antibiotics you can put in the water but be careful not to go overboard on the antibiotics because it can lead to diarrhea which will dehydrate him and he needs to be hydrated well to cope with the shock he has suffered. If you can take him to the vet they could give him an injectable antibiotic which won't give him diarrhea and still fight the infection. My vet uses Baytril. He has also used Lincocin for these situations.

I used Penicillin G, 0.1 cc once a day for 3 days on my severely injured hens (dog attack). Cleaned all wounds twice daily with Chlorhexidine soap and rinse (got small bottles of each from my vet, over the counter), followed with lavish amounts of antibiotic cream (made sure it didn't have 'painkillers' in it). Because I'm in the South, I had to follow up with a Fly paste deterrent. Electrolytes in the water. All 3 completely recovered. What a nightmare.

I live in oregon and there is no tractor supplys around here but there is the grange do you think they would have it?
