Looks like all the recent rain, then flooded coops has given majority of my chickens watery eyes, sniffles, cough and/or wheezing! I've already lost 6 pullets and 2 layers before I realized what was happening, I don't need to lose any more if possible. I can't afford a vet and of all things, neither in my county treat livestock of any kind, the only vet that did retired. I'm not good at figuring medication dosage break down when it comes to metrics, I'm old schooled. So please, I need a dosage for chickens for
Oxytetracycline Hydrochloride Soluble Powder 50%/100g.
If this gets worse, I'm going to have to cull nearly my entire flock and start over next year.

Thanks in advance.

Without lab work on a recent death, you are just guessing and wasting time.

Can you post a picture of the product?
I haven't bought it yet, I wanted to find out dosage before ordering. This is the photo on site.

I found it on EBay, https://www.ebay.com/itm/OXYTETRACY...203983?hash=item46852fa94f:g:OusAAOSwe2xbsfqS.
I also talked to the department of agriculture for my state but they could only send a health inspector out and my chickens aren't kept on my property. I don't want to cause any problems for the land owner.
If I could read the package I would feel better about calculating a dose for you. Were you able to find anything made in the US or written in English?

As for testing, you could call this place and see about using them. A friend of mine used them and way quite happy, though their tests showed they
had two bacterial infection, so they chose to euthanize the whole flock. :(

Okay, so I can see the top of the bag say 50 g / 100 g, so it probably is 50%
When you could buy oxytetracycline and tetracycline OTC the per gallon dose was 800 mg.

50% oxytetracycline powder means 1 gram of powder = 500 mg oxytetracycline and 500 mg fluff.

One teaspoon of most poultry powders will weigh 2.5 grams to 3.3 grams.
2.5 x 500 = 1250 mg per teaspoon - 800 mg = 0.64 teaspoons per gallon
3.3 x 500 = 1650 mg per teaspoon - 800 mg = 0.48 teaspoons per gallon

Please, double check my math!
