Temp should never change.
It stays the same the whole time but your set up doesn't count.
Keep it as close to 10 as possible but do NOT go over 100.
Upping the humidity is going to need to happen once he does the external pip so that the membrane doesn't dry out.
If you can get it up to 60 plus at that time it will be good.
Do you have duckling feed on hand?
You could take about 1/4 of a cup of it and start soaking it in water now...I prefer fermented feed.
I mixed a tiny bit of fermented feed with a tiny big of scrambled egg and a dash of nutritional yeast and that was the first feed I offered my ducks.
Do you have a small shallow dish with rocks or marbles read to go for a waterer for the first day?
You will beed to make a duck proof waterer for the second day..the dummies like water and will get in to any water they can as quick as they can to make a mess.
Where do I get the niacin? For feed you'll want a non-medicated game bird starter or turkey starter. 24-28% protein. If you can't get game bird you'll want some brewers yeast to add niacin to the feed. If you feed crumbles or a pelleted feed you don't need grit right away, but I always like to make it available. Chick grit for a baby duck. I'll add a news paper to the brooder with some sand, chick grit and feed kind of leading to the feed dish.
They are soooo cute I can’t stand it!!Mistake waterer...I made the hole a little too big.
