Hi! We are kinda new at raising ducks. We have four female ducks. Two are Pekins which we got from a work friend this summer. They have been laying for about a year now. The eggs are normal white eggs. The other two, however, one a Rouen and one an Indian runner, have just started laying. For some reason, they have insisted on laying these bluish green-tinted eggs.... Is there a problem or are they just going to be laying bluish gree tinted eggs???

Thanks!

Different duck breeds can lay different colored eggs just like different breeds of chickens can lay different colored eggs. Duck eggs can be almost black, gray, green, blue and white depending on the breed. I would say it is probably your runner who started laying the blue green eggs however, every once in awhile there will be a rouen that lays blue/green eggs (it's just rare). Enjoy the the blue green eggs!
